my dad passed away about 3 years ago.. i just found out that my mom and step dad was getting money every month from him and not telling me or giving me any of and using it for themselves.. when i turn 18 which will be in May will i get any of it to myself or will it be gone by then? what exactly do i do?

Contact a lawyer. That was your child support from your father. Not sure what if anything can be done about it. But it wouldn't hurt to find out.

Well, you said, keeping it for themselves but were they not paying rent and for food and so forth? Child support, if that's what it was, goes to the parent, it's not a direct payment to the child. I'm not sure how things work once the parent remarries, whether the child support continues. But anyway, the money was either a court warranted child support payment or an unofficial agreement between them to provide for you.

This would have been maintenance payments for you as most absent dads pay if they are employed .its up to your mom if she wants to give you any, but legally, I dont think sshe has to.
