And she was taking advantage of the fact that she was the only person in my section at the moment and giving me a run-down of how her religion is the ONLY one in the universe that knows what's what...And she told me that Jesus was actually born in October. IS THAT TRUE???

I have close friends who are JW... And they are NOT like this lady. She was obnoxious. I just smiled, told her that I was raised Christian Reformed, and that I don't practice organized reigion.

Just because I don't practice organized religion doesn't mean I have no interest in Christ. I believe he existed. Where do people get their ideas about who has a right to ask what. I am just CURIOUS..And maybe if I found an organized church that didn't make me feel as if I were surrounded by phonies, I would practice religion. GALL!!

No one knows the date of Jesus' birth. No one even knows the year; various authorities have different opinions usually ranging from 2 BC to 6 AD.

The Bible says he died in the spring of the year in the month of Nisan, but as far as I know it doesn't say he was 33 1/2 years old when he died. Even if the Bible said that, he could have been 33 1/2 for a period of six months, so that would only narrow it down to a window of six months for the month of his birth.

The date of December 25 was probably chosen because it was the date of the Roman Saturnalia and a day that the Jews also observed, but there's no reason to think Jesus was born on Dec 25.

There is no way that anyone knows what month Jesus was born. If someone tells you that they know, be very skeptical.

Well if some of your associates(thank you spell check) are also Witnesses then you know that we are not always so um...forceful. It could be she was just in a mood to share. As to the date the Bible shows that Jesus died on Nissan 14. He was 33 and half years old. Move ahead 6 months and we see he died in October. As to the whole Dec. 25th thing that is when the pagans had a celebration of the Sun. So the birth of Christ was celebrated on this day so that Pagans could still celebrate their holiday and call it Christian. It is another instance of polluted Christianity.

Well, you know that Jehovah's Witnesses are not considered Christians?

Jehovah's Witness are not considered Christians because they preach that Jesus is not God and only a prophet. They don't believe either in the Holy Spirit. They say that the Holy Spirit is ONLY the force of God... and that's not what the Bible says.

Beware!!! They are always telling things like that the number of saved people will be 44,000, they always knew when will be the end of the world, and such things. They have also altered the Bible to their convenience.

How come they think to know everything about Christ, when they negate the divinity of Christ? Don't get absorbed by them. Know your religion before changing to them. Go to YOUR church, and read more and more in YOUR religion.

Hope this help.

There will always be individuals who go a little overboard on anything. She sounds like an older woman. From experience as a cab driver, I do know that older folks can talk endlessly about anything. I'm sure you've had similar experiences with others. Jehovah just happens to be her subject of choice. I find that I just need to be patient. Some restaurants have community tables where different people, eating alone, and sit and talk.

Jesus died on Nisan 14, the last supper or passover. which is in April. he was 33 1/2 years old. count six months forward and you get October. we are not a cult. we are a religion. we are in 235 lands worldwide. we are not brainwashed. we worship Jehovah and his son Jesus Christ. a cult worships a man and lives in one state. we have free will. live in our own homes and work and pay bills just like you do. a cult does what the man wants. if we where a cult, we would not be working almost others. also Jesus told us to celebrate his death not his birth. if Jehovah wanted us to celebrate Jesus birth, it would be in the bible and since it is not we don't. I guess you would not listen to Jesus either because Jesus commanded us to go door to door at Matthew 18 verse 19 and 20. Jesus did the same thing. we can not change your religion. that is between you and God Jehovah. we are christians.

Jesus was not born in December, nor did he tell us to celebrate his birth. But yes, he was born AROUND Oct.

No one knows for certain EXACTLY when Jesus was born.

Next time a Jehova's witness is trying to witness to you, just tell her that you believe that Jesus is your Lord and Savior and that no matter what she has to say, you will not convert.

If you're not allowed to say such things, then just kindly ask her to not discuss such things with you since you are working.
