Ask for Greek red wine. Or for German red wine. Should both be available in England. Both have the sweet variety, which is not too sweet, at least not as sweet as Port. The trick is in the alcohol content. Red wines with alcohol contents around 9 to 10 % will be sweet. Higher than 12% would be dry.

hi, First, make certain what you propose by potential of "candy". many people confuse candy with fruit. i'm guessing you propose mild and fruity in case you savor white wines. The lightest, fruitiest crimson wine will probable be a Beaujolais. some Pinot Noir and Zinfandel is additionally fruity adequate for you. i does not purchase an low-fee Pinot Noir nevertheless, they could be very complicated to enhance so the good ones fee extra. in case you particularly propose candy as in sugary, a dessert wine could be what you will like. I see some above point out port. those are oftentimes somewhat heavy nevertheless and are terrific served after your meal. desire this facilitates. bear in ideas, the terrific wine is often one you savor and can arise with the money for and all of us's flavor buds interpret wine in a marginally diverse way.

Not in this country or most others. Red wine is fermented to be bone dry. I know that the Greeks do produce some sweet reds; perhaps that where you were. However, I did hear a rumour that Waitrose occasionally have it....

There is a beautiful Hungarian red wine called Bor Forras, and is very very nice.
there is also an Italian red called Travicello, it is very much like Bor Forras but a bit lighter.
both cost about £9.99 a bottle but are well worth it.
