I worship at home. I have a puja altar/room. I follow the teachings of Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi. She has an ashram here in California two hours away. So if I'm in the area, I go to their Saturday services.

There are many different temples for different dieties and/or guru's in the Hindu religion. Where they would go would depend on who they chose to worship. But it is not a requirement. To worship at home daily is good enough.

Hindus in India would have a plethora of places to choose such as shrines to different gods. Here in the United States they would find a Hindu Temple, or some would worship with the Hare Krishna as they have their own authentic Hindu shrines to Krsna and various deities. There is also a significant degree of solitary home worship or worship with the family at home to a shrine of a deity.
