Can my daughter get ssi or ssd because she have auto-immune disease that cause her hair to fall out and regrow in 3 or 4 monthly cycle. Is that handicap or disable? If she is then i can go to her doctor to get paper to show prove to social security office. I know that it also cause emotional problem or self essteem problem but I will always be there for her to love her!!

only if she develops mental illness over it...otherwise no...people with most their body scared from a fire goto work...

Alopecia is not a cognitive disability . It is not a disabling condition. It will definitely have implications on self esteem but otherwise she should develop normally. Encourage her to look forward toward school and learning when she gets older and try to give her as normal a childhood experience as you can. She may be able to work through some of the other issues and carve out a niche in this world like every other kid.

If you are looking for free health care for your child many states have programs for children to receive health care. For example NY has Child Health Plus. Research your state govt website for similar programs and requirements.

I doubt this is a disability. Research what you can do to help your child. Is she taking any medications for anything? People do lose hair in response to side effects of medications and allergies to foods/ chemicals. Keep her food simple. No preservatives. Fresh, no processed foods. Remove sugar from her diet ( no one needs it). Keep a calm environment.

Check the website. www.ssa.gov. I am not sure if alopecia is covered or not. My son was able to get SSI for cancer.

that is very rare for such a youngster. check out dr. hulda clark's books. i think you will find it very very helpful.
also be sure that you don't have munchousen by proxy. it can be deadly.
