Show your source when you say there are "no black athiests," because personally, I know you're full of it. I know plenty of black athiests and they are not upperclass teenagers. As far as there being "no sothern athiests," I'll agree that the south is generally more of a devout area than other places in the United States, but to say that there are none at all is inaccurate. The reason there are more Christians in the south is because of culture. The south has been the slowest at separating church and state and the south has incorporated Christianity into many parts of daily life. That is why: exposure and practice.
All athiests are not "in fact" angry, white, upperclass teenagers. Athiests come from all walks of life and if you actually did research, you'd know this. http://www.atheists.org/ Check out this site and you'll see many adult and inter-racial athiests (especially if you go to the foxhole link).
And finally, your last statement: "I think all teenage athiests quit being sheep at age 30!" Let's talk about why this is a poor statement. I am going to assume that by "sheep," you mean "teenage athiests." Teenage athiests stop being teenage athiests once they are out of their teens; therefore, they are adult athiests after all. If people really turn from atheism at age 30, back up your statement. (Ironically, I know more people over the age of 30 who are athiests than I do younger folks.) More importantly, to refer to athiests as "sheep" is going to back you into a corner. Athiests believe that YOU are the one who is the sheep because you follow the teachings of a church and book on blind faith alone. Whatever you call athiests, "sheep" is the one word that is going to get you laughed at the most.
You have an interesting theory but it is meaningless unless you can back it up. I am not athiest, so technically you could consider me on your "side," but your argument was not an argument at all--it was hot air.

A wonderful question!!
Your statement appears to suggest that the lack of belief in a god is a sign of delayed maturation resulting in young people following the herd. There is a good argument for this. The only problem is that once they start to think for themselves as adults and are not bound up in being part of what is "cool" or fashionable, many paths appear.
So, post-30 can mean finding god, finding Scientology, finding the big angle on the Dow Jones or becoming a contender on Big Brother. What can lead someone to god, (thought, insight, discussion, contemplation, inspiration, thirst for knowledge) is the same thing that can result in someone realizing there is NO god, or their raison d'etre is accumulating money, etc. So long as thought has taken place, people should flourish as they find fit (hopefully so long as they hurt no one else). Sadly, people often drift from the adolescence/early adulthood PAST their 30's without taking the time to reflect on life, spiritual possibilities or the meaning of "being".
I do think the "no black atheists" comment is puzzling; maybe some "thought, insight, discussion, contemplation, inspiration, thirst for knowledge" would be useful?

I'm 45, hold four college degrees (BA, MA, MS, Ph.D.), and have worked at the same institution for 20 years. I've got numerous publications, a pilot's license, a Level 2 High Power Rocketry certification, je parle francais y tambien espanol y po italiano and hon, I'm smarter than you, more mature than you, more ethical than you, more patriotic than you, I'm better behaved here on Yahoo Answers and I quit being a sheep by age 10. I'm an atheist.
When you have some actual accomplishments under your belt, come back and talk about your beliefs. Until then, be aware that throwing around insults that you can't support with the facts does you no good whatsoever - and it only belittles your religion as well.

Well, I'm not black or southern.
I am, however, a happy, well adjusted, middle class, adult.
I have been an atheist my whole life (31 years) and believe that you are "the sheep".
So your "facts" are nothing of the sort, and you don't have "a theory", you have a hypothesis which is unfortunately proved completely incorrect.

There aren't any black atheists? you've scoured the whole world looking for a black atheist and haven't found even one? while on this very site there is a user who's name is "black atheist" you need facts to back up your argument. Atheism isn't a sheepish thing, it's an opinion. I was born a christian sheep, I got tired of it, I became an atheist. Nice Strawman argument you got there, go to college, take a logic and language course, take a statistics course, take a theology course, and then come back here and restate your question you moron.

Well, let's see. I'm 28 - not a teenager. I'm lower middle class - very lower middle class. I am white, but so what? And I'm Atheist. There goes your theory.
My girlfriend is Hispanic, 30, lower middle class. Atheist.

by your theory (although VERY false) but according to you this would mean that all atheists are well educated and know better than to have beliefs in god or put false hopes into praying because they obviously know better. I concluded this because upper class white people are more educated.....
Although your statistics are wrong, the point is correct, the more education we have the less we need false things to put hope into because were smart enough to do things for our self instead of "pray to god" that things just work out.

Um, there's a regular on this forum who literally uses the screen name "Black Atheist". What are you talking about?
And there are plenty of adult atheists; look at Richard Dawkins.

Once again you make statement that are not true. You must lead a really pathetic life to be able to lie so much and not feel bad about it. why don't you just leave and never come back? the world would be a better place without you.
