There is a musty smell that I Can't identify and when I come home after a weekend to a closed up house I get really sick. My chest starts to hurt, my head, my ears, my throat and I feel dizzy and disoriented until I can air it out(my stomach hurts too). Will allergy medicine help this if it is mold?

you need to look for mold and if you see any and replace the area where its at. mold is Not healthy for you to be breathing. also when you go out try leaving window open even if just a crack that way it will air out instead of building up

you have a mold problem. the first sign is the musty smell. you can try medicines but your body can only take some much mold bacteria you need to contact someone about coming in and finding it and removing it. We did and they gave me stuff to put in the attic to remove moisture out of the air. It has helped we don't smell it or see any sign. Good Luck

Musty smell is the tip off. Call in a specialist in this field. If you get sick if the house is closed in for only 2 days, then I would say you should seek out a pro in mold abatement sooner rather than later.

No, allergy med won't help. If it is mold, it could be very dangerous to your health, sometimes permanently. You need to call the health department or EPA and have your house inspected. If it is a strain called (?sp) stachybatrus, it will require major work to get rid of. Every minute you are in that house, you are seriously endangering your health, so, don't wait.
