The Bible does not explain why the sky is blue, because when it was written they did not know about how the atmosphere scattered the light.
The Sun does not go around the Earth, but rather we orbit the Sun. This was not explained either because the Bible pretty much describes the Earth as flat.
The Bible was written by primitive man trying to explain what they did not understand. This is why it contains so many mistakes and anomalies.

It seems to imply because it reflects the heavenly saphire throne for why its blue. That doesn't mean they actually thought they were looking at the botom, only that they felt it was made blue to remind them of the heavenly throne.
The bible doesn't mention how the sun goes around the earth.
I remember when I read the bible for the first time being surprised that it new the earth was round, but you wouldn't catch it if you don't know middle eastern geography. (I'm Palestinian) When it mentions a kinig rules the whole world it will say "He ruled the whole world from place A to place B," but place A and B are right next to each other. It does that a lot.

The sun doesn't go around the earth.
It is theorized that before the Flood, the sky was actually a pink hue, due to the 7th layer of water above the earth's atmosphere that contained traces of a metal.
I believe that the sky is blue in the daytime because it is the color of space diffused by sunlight. When the sunlight is gone at night, we see the true color of space.

Although most of mankind in the times the Hebrew Scriptures
were penned, did indeed believe the earth to be flat,The inspired
Writer Isaiah wrote; "There is one who dwelling above the CIRCLE
OF THE EARTH,.......... Isaiah.40:22, At Job.38:36.God said to Job;
"Who put wisdom in the cloud layers,Or who gave understanding
to THE SKY PHENOMENOM?"Some like to believe that the Bible
contradicts its self,However that is not the truth. The bible is in
harmony througout, and a complete and honest study bears this
out.The bible and (true) science are in harmony.

The sky is blue because of the scattering of light, and the earth goes around the sun, not the sun around it. (but we know that because of science not the bible)

Matter of fact yes. Gen 1 states God overcame the chaos and unfolded creation in an orderly manner.
This order allows us to write questions on YA - including trick ones where the SUN DOES NOT GO AROUND THE EARTH.

Acording to Martin Luther the bible does claim the sun revolves around the earth.
"This fool [Copernicus] wishes to reverse the entire science of astronomy; but sacred scripture tells us that Joshua commanded the sun to stand still, and not the earth." -- Martin Luther

No it does not, but,..It's fine dust particles in the atmosphere scattering the fine blue spectrum, out of the white light. The Sun is way bigger than us, it's gravity is swinging Earth around.

The Bible doesnt need to, because it is book written to establish faith. Though there are reasons why, its not that spiritually important to get one to heaven.
