I have regular sinus problems and have had really severe congestion in the past. Lasting for 6 months before. I know its miserable. Lately I found relief with benadryl and Mucinex-D
Z-pack and prednisone are steroids and won't do anything, Alegra is a long term treatment that you cant tell if it works or not. Augmentin has cleared me up before, took 3 cycles 10 days each

I assume by sinus rinse, you mean the salt-water inhale and spitting out? That is a great thing to do to clear out. Sorry to be graphic.
Zpack is not a very good antibiotic for this because it is so short (3 days). Augmentin is. Prednisone is a steriod which I guess was given b/c you have swelling in the tissue. And Allegra-D is a decongestant. The last two would not *fight* the infection. Only another, stronger antibiotic would.
Go back to your doc and tell them the Zpack didn't work. Neither did the Augmentin. They can try things as hard-core as Cipro. Get a STRONGER antibiotic.
Sinus surgery may be needed if your ceptum is deviated. I assume Xrays have been done of your sinus cavity.

A miracle cure I've found is jala neti. It's basically a centuries old technique of rinsing the sinus with a saline solution. I have turned some of my friends onto this and they are blown away.
I've been down the road with infections, chronic allergies, doctor visits, etc. This simple, cheap method has been a godsend. I highly recommend.

I had to have sinus surgary a year ago- the best thing I ever did- it hurt like hell- yet I can really really breath. Well worth a week of pain. Consider it- see a specialist.

I went through 11 different antibotics one year for sinus, until they admitted me into hospital and had to be on iv antibotics which still didn't help till they lanced the sinuses and drained them and then did surgery and drilled holes and drained all inside.
It didn't hurt near as bad as the pain I was in. The surgery has lasted for almost 10 years, I am now starting to develop problems again. But I will not wait to go through all the different medications and waiting again. Next time I will try 2 antibotics if that don't do it book me for my surgery. You may want to ask your doctor about it.

that sounds like enough meds to cure that if it was an sinus infection. there could be a chance that it was something else that
will not work with that medication. go back to the doctors

All are analgesics and will not cure the infection but may help alleviate the symptoms and therefor the pain and stopped up feeling. If you have a true infection you need the correct antibiotic and only a doctor will prescribe one for you.

If it's an actual infection, you probably need antibiotics.
