Nothing is set in stone. You have to do what makes you happy. You only have one wedding day and it should be special to you. Think about the pictures, etc. How will it all look together.
Most people will eventually throw out the invitation anyway. You will probably be the only one who saves it and puts it into your wedding album. So think long about your decision. But remember, it's YOUR wedding!
Congratulations and God Bless You!

It is customary for the invites to match the wedding colors yet there is nothing set in stone. Your wedding design could be whatever you desire and whatever make you happy...Why not attach at the top center of each invite a small cabernet or cranberry colored satin bow. You could also incorporate the use of the bows on the response cards and reception name cards as well.. I'm sure sage green would not be totally out of place as there will be greenery in the bouquets and centerpieces. Wishing you the best on your special day!

It's not necessary to match the colors of your wedding to the invitations. This is a personal preference.

Call and work with the invitation company, they may be able to help you find something with your colors that you can't see online. I own an invitation printing business and I know that a lot of sites don't show all of the invitations available in invitation albums and vice-versa. If perhaps you find one in white or ecru that you like, consider just matching the ink color to your wedding colors or potentially the inner envelope lining.

Not at all.

The invitation is the first aspect of your wedding many guests will receive (unless you're sending out Save-the-Dates but even those are normally similar to the invitations). So, in many ways, it is their first impression. If you've found an invitation that fits the formality and feel (ie, romantic? fun? classic? elegant?) of your wedding, that is fine. Ultimately, this is a decision for you, your fiance, and any person(s) funding the wedding to make. If you like them, go for it!

Today's weddings are so far from what they used to be. I think you should order the invitations you like the best even if they don't match your "colors". Most people don't know the difference anyway. It is "your" wedding so get what pleases YOU. Congratulations!
Cheers!

They don't have to match your colours. Some people like to go with a theme or just pick what they like. I would suggest that you don't pick a supper formal invite with a casual wedding as people will take cues from your invite on how formal the wedding is.

I don't really think that it is that big of a deal, but sometimes people like to wear the colors of the wedding. I would so go with what you want though

You don't have want to if you don't want to, but honestly a well-themed wedding makes it more memorable and exciting when you look back at it in a few years. It also makes it more interesting so that your attendees would look forward to it. You don't always have to match by colors, you can do a Night in Paris theme or something special that you and your partner share, like perhaps they place where you first met or first got engaged. Congrats and good luck. Remember what God hath put together let no man or anything put asunder.

they don't exactly have to be the same color but they should go along with the theme of your wedding. For example, if you're having a beach wedding than use beach themed invitations. I personally think they should be the same color but it's up to you.
