Of course being with another 'special sweetie' is enhancing to share with. But, when that other ' sweetie ' is not around...why don't more just ' date ' themselfs in the meantime?

. Sewwoodyo . . . Yes a single person has wonderful friends...But, in the evenings sometimes those other friends are with their own 'sweeties' or with their kids. So...some of us singles will take ourselfs out on a 'date'.

I'm hoping by "dating themselves" you are talking about going out solo and having a good time anyway. Well, that is what friends are for but if you have no friends...
THEN
By all means, dress up and go to an establishment and have a nice dinner by yourself or even a cup of coffee or a drink by ones self. Make sure you don't look like or act like you could be a "pick up"... as you will not attract any of the good ones... lol
Act aloof if you are on the prowl... the "wanting" people get taken advantage of and end up with broken hearts or lots of "one nighters"... SO be careful when "dating yourself".

When I was single I did that all the time. I'd treat myself to a nice dinner at home. Buy a nice bottle of scotch and enjoy in the back yard with a good book. I even traveled to Hawaii by myself. Now that I do have my sweetie, I love doing these things with her and for her but I had no problem "dating myself"

Oh god yes ! Go to the movie YOU want to see. Eat the icecream YOU want to eat -- and eat it with a spoon out of the carton. When you travel alone, you meet so many more people !! Indulge in out-there hobbies. Scubadiving, skydiving, nude painting. Special sweeties come and go --- but until you are happy with spending time with yourself, they don't stay around for long !!!
