my oldest son has a speech problem. Sometimes its hard for him to pronounce words correctly until we tell him. He does well in school (except in speech). but he's getting better at it as we work with him. When he plays video games he rocks as he's doing it. or sometimes when he watches cartoons he would rock. I tell him to stop and he does. But sooner or later he starts up again. He's very responsive. And follows directions well. I just get nervous that somethings wrong when he rocks. Sometimes when he's sleep he will rock while lying down every now and then.

it is not atypical in any respect. I had a pal who might rock back and forth each night until now going to sleep, no remember how tierd she became, because of the fact it made her doze off (it additionally gave her incredibly good abs). and that i do it interior the automobile. it is only something human beings do, and would not might desire to be stopped. I comprehend which you think of it is creepy however (I do it too and comprehend it is wierd) besides the shown fact that it is comparable to different issues human beings do, like shaking their legs whilst sitting in charis or cracking their knucles. it is thoroughly standard and would not might desire to be stopped ( as long as human beings outdoors the kin do not see her doing it, ha)

My three year old daughter does this. We had her tested and she tested fine. She just thinks it's fun and I think she comforts herself that way. Like some kids suck their thumb. my two year old will join in with her and just laugh and giggle. She stops when I ask her to and she does it the most right before she falls asleep.

could be normal soothing motions... although that is something that autistic kids do alot... are they aware of their surroundings very much... if they are not that aware or responsive to their surrounding and they rock back and forth, I would be more worried

They could just be having fun.... however, it could be a more serious symptom of autism. Go to a pediatrician for further analysis.
