I'm 16 years old and 5'9. I've been modeling for a little over a year on and off. I've gone to NYC a few times, but now I have a chance to move there. I live in Arizona so if I move I have to leave everything behind and only my mom would go with me cause my dad would have to stay and work and take care of my brother. I want to go, but I'm not sure if I should. Should I model?

I say "GO FOR IT!" this is practically a once in a lifetime thing. Besides if you model and become rich you will make enough $$ 2 get ur bro and dad 2 move there. or you could try to rent a place there and see how you like it and go back if it turns out that is not what u really wanted

Please take my advice: I know first hand what it is like to be a model. Its not worth it to leave everything behind. You'll be much happier where you are in Arizona with your whole family. Modeling has taken over my life. I obsess over being skinnier and beautiful. Sure its fun the few minutes walking down the runway and having everyone gawk at you because you look amazing. But if I had the choice to go back, I would. I want to have myself to myself and more time to things for myself. Its a hard life to be a model. Its fun while your fresh but then newer models come in and you need to make sure to keep your spot where you are. Its dirty business.
Stay home with your family. Trust me.

Only you can answer that question. Modeling in NYC is very, very hard. It's a cut-throat business. Living in NYC is very hard. Nothing is easy in NYC. You probably won't have friends here as it often takes a long time to make friends.
It's your life do what you feel.

First finish school, modeling is very tricky and it doesnt guarantee any success. Of course always try and keep up your portfolio and go to castings. At the same time, FINISH SCHOOL! thats the only thing that is guaranteed for you to be successful in your choice of career! good luck with the modeling!

Its a tough game but i'm sure you already knew that, just remember that you shouldn't have to pay for anything. If they want you they will take achance on you and "invest" in you they make their money when you make it!

Be smart and be careful there is alot of rubbish out there. All the best!

Let me get this straight. Should you choose a normal, happy family life at home with family, school & friends or split your family up to live a life full of drugs, anorexia, & bulimia??
