Just a rough estimate will do.

Also, if only two of every species, what did the carnivores eat? Did some species go extinct if the tigers got hungry?

Susan J. If there were only 16,000 animals on the ark why are there far more than 8,000 species of animals. Where did all these other species come from?

By loss of unique bits of genetic code, different species are generated."
OK, look d man, as somebody who has studied both evolution and genetics I can see you are completely misinformed and apparently just making stuff up as you go along. Let me set you straight.
1. All dogs are part of the same species (go to wikipedia to find out what biologists are talking about when they use the word).
2. It is not possible that genetic diversity would increase as 'unique bits of genetic inforation' are removed from the collective gene pool. This even goes against the basics of information theory to which scinetific creationsits currently cling.
3. There are way more than 8000 species of land animals. Like maybe by 3 or 4 orders of magnitude

He said two of every species so that would be at least five million going by the number of species on the planet at any given time.

Susan J - good answer ... you get my vote.
I'd like to add a short note. It was by no means necessary for every species to be represented. Firstly, only land animals and birds went into the ark. Secondly, the Bible does not speak of species, but of kinds. Thus, Husky and Labrador are both represented by the dog kind. From the dog kind pair that came off the ark after the flood, all types, or species, if you like, devolved as the ark pair would have all the genetic information needed for all types. By loss of unique bits of genetic code, different species are generated.

two of every kind of unclean (the ones that God didn't allow them to eat yet) animal. And that doesn't mean two of every species. When it means "kind" it means like two dogs, and wolfs are a type of dog. Then 7 of every kind of clean animal. Does this answer your question? I am sorry, but I have to clue about how many their where in the ark, but there must have been a lot since Noah didn't such a big boat.

Not really sure how many animals. I mean how many specices where availb in the immediate region? How many species exsisted at the time? Carnivores? Hmmm good question maybe some did go exsitinct, or perhaps, they brought animals just for feeding that isnt' mentioned in the Bible.
The Bible isn't a police report it doesn't tell us every detail.

Many writers on the subject of Noah's ark have different estimates for the amount of animals that the ark would have to carry. Doctors Morris and Whitcomb in their book, The Genesis Flood, estimate that approximately 35,000 animals were placed on board the ark. In another book written on the subject, Noah's Ark: A Feasibility Study, John Woodmorappe states that only about 2,000 animals would have to be on the ark. Being rather conservative he continues his study with the assumption that 16,000 animals could easily be cared for on the ark.

Yes, he started out with all the animals, then they killed and ate each other. Then the tiger killed the last one including Noah and later starved to death coz their was nothing left to eat. All that was left was a big boat full of ****, bones and the dead tiger!
later land animals originated from the sea creatures through evolution as we know it today.

No idea of the number-- but it was couples of each TYPE!
They came to the ark - Noah did not have to have a round up.
The land masses were different so none had to swim from Australia or N.Z.!

There was no Noah's Ark. This story is one of the many myths of the Bible put there to teach us how our sin can destroy the world and how the faith, devotion and action of believers can save the earth.

approximately 15 billion pairs at least, as that is the number of species known to have existed. Must have been one hell of a boat LOL

At a very rough guess, my answer would be none. But you knew I'd say that, didn't you?
Technically speaking, IF it had existed, there would have been close to 500,000, assuming all the marine life could look after itself.
