The "elders" are the bishops and priests.

I think it depends on the church. In my church the elders have two functions: one they assist, advise and support the pastor. second they are there to offer counsel, assistance and prayer to the congregation. Often a Elder might be called upon to lead a small group or even preach and teach.
Deacons are help support the physical operating of the church, ensure repairs are done, make sure the church is clean, parking.

So the elders role is spiritual , while the deacons is physical

not all churches have both..... some only deacons ..... some only elders..... some neither......

However in the churches that have them ... deacons see to the needs of the congregation.... elders make sure that the things taught in the church co-inside with the churches statement of faith.... most often the elders are the selection committee that hires or dismisses a pastor.
Deacons normally head up congregational programs... such as food closets.... help with elderly.... things like this.

This is for protestant churches... the denomination determines whether they have both or either.... this description does not hold true for catholic churches or some other denominational churches.

The office of elder is a great privilege, as indicated by 1 Timothy 3:1, which says: “If any man is reaching out for an office of overseer, he is desirous of a fine work.”

1 Peter 5:1 Therefore, to the older men among YOU I give this exhortation, for I too am an older man with [them] and a witness of the sufferings of the Christ, a sharer even of the glory that is to be revealed: 2 Shepherd the flock of God in YOUR care, not under compulsion, but willingly; neither for love of dishonest gain, but eagerly; 3 neither as lording it over those who are God’s inheritance, but becoming examples to the flock. 4 And when the chief shepherd has been made manifest, YOU will receive the unfadable crown of glory.

The qualifications for becoming a Christian overseer, or elder, are given primarily by the apostle Paul at 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.

We use ministerial servants, they also have qualifications..1 Timothy 3:8-10, 12, 13.

To control their church, and have a feeling of importance. That is why they always talk about being an elder.

i don't go to church, as I am an atheist. But, I believe they to be like the board of the church. The church is much like a coporation, where people are putting money into it. The board is there to ensure the paid staff are following the missions, beliefs, and acting in an appropriate manner.
