I am in a religious school, and I'm hoping someone here can help me. These are the exact instructions from my teacher:
"Using the concordance in your Bible, find other Scriptures pertaining to standards of speech. You may find it helpful to look up words such as the following: mouth, tongue, speech, words. Make a list of different points you need to consider when speaking."
Please, can someone help me ?

Yes, I know what concordance is, I am just unsure about how to go about the assignment...I am homeschooled online, & it being the weekend ; I have no contact with my teachers what-so-ever. That is why I am asking for your help. By the way, I appreciate the informative answers.

First of all, if you don't understand your instructions, the best thing to do is to ask the teacher what he/she meant.
That said, here's how I see your assignment:
Using your concordance (I hope you know what a concordance is!), look up Bible passages having to do with speech. Use key words such as mouth, tongue, speech, and words. (You might use other words, too, such as talk.) What do these scriptures say about speech or talk? What do they say about how you should speak, the dangers of certain kinds of talk, and so forth?
In a nutshell: What does the Bible say about the way a person should talk or speak?
Now, biblegateway.com is great for looking up words that appear in the Bible. I'll start you off with some searches; look in the links below.
Now I'll give you as a jumpstart a famous scripture about speech, talk, and tongue:
From James 3 (NIV):
9With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. 10Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. 11Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? 12My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.
Read the first part of James 3; it's a great place to start your research about the Bible and speech.
Now, if you don't know what a concordance is, I'll point you to the definition below.

Good luck with your assignment, and God bless you!

First, do you know what a concordance is and how to use one? The first person who answered gave you a link to an online concordance, it looks like. Strong's is a good one. You can use it with confidence, knowing it will give you good answers. A concordance is a reference book (or online reference or a few pages in the back of your Bible) that lists Bible verses by words that are contained in them. If your Bible HAS this in the back, use that one since that is what your teacher asked of you. If you don't have one in your Bible, use the online one or get to the library and use one there, if you don't have one at home. If you use a concordance, you could look up the word "storm" (it's in alphabetical order, you use it like a dictionary) and it would tell you every verse in the Bible that prominently features the word "storm." You'd have to go look up the verses to see exactly what each one says about a storm, but that's good practice for you. A concordance is kind of like a 'search engine' for Bible words. It can help you find verses when all you can remember is a key word or two.
Once you've found a concordance (in your Bible or a separate book or online) go look up -- just like you would in a dictionary -- all the different words your teacher gave you. I'd also add "talk" and "speak" to the list. Go look up the verses the concordance gives you. Make notes while you're reading about what each verse says about how we should be speaking to one another. Some of the verses won't help with this assignment, but many will come up that will give you plenty to write about.
Email me (click on the name under my avatar) with specific questions, if you like. I'll try to check it frequently.

"I chosen to do my project on prayer in public colleges, on the aspect that prayer does not damage all and sundry (my instructors an atheist, so im doing this to piss her off)." in case you do issues basically to "piss human beings off" -- that asserts more desirable about you than something else you've revealed. My answer/feedback will be -- improve up. You sound like the love-baby of Ann Coulter and Fireball.

Somewhere in the Gospel Jesus says that it what comes out of your mouth, not what you put into it, that defiles you.
