That's easy, poor and married. Over half of the people surveyed recently say they regret not having families, especially children. It seems money doesn't buy true happiness.

Firstly that would depend on what i would have to do to be rich and single. Poor and married. If the situation is one were i earned my money in a legimate honest way and within the law. I would choose to be rich and single, than to be poor and married as money is some thing you need to survive and you can't get away from it.
Being married and poor and kids come into the picture and have a mount everest of bills to pay, and have a problem in making the payments is a death sentence.

Tough question, LOL. I think I'd go for single and rich even though my husband and I had fun being married and poor in the early years of our marriage. Maybe I got used to a better life? OTOH, I'd not leave him for a single and rich life if something were to go wrong now...

I would rather be rich and single but that depends on if I was happy and content with my lavish lifestyle. Money cant buy you happiness. If I was content and happy being poor and married than I would have to pick poor b/c you cant take it with you. Your question leaves alot of what about this or that are you happy and content in either situation you have to filter in all of that to make a sensible decision. Good Luck

Poor and married...only if I was happily married. If I was poor and I always fought with my husband and my life sucked royally I wouldn't be too happy...then I would want to be rich and single.

I beleive that if you find the right person in your life, you will feel more rich than anyone else in the world.
Im pretty well off and money cant buy everything.Sometimes i go through phases where i just buy things to make me happy, but its only temporary, you realise that you have no one that appreciates you for you. Most people that marry for money, well thats just another form of prostitution.

If you are single and rich you are more likely to want to be (happily) married and poor.
If you are (unhappily) married and (just desperately) poor, you are more likely to want to be single and rich.
Now, barring any of the above, I am sure most people wouldn't mind being single and rich.
