When in doubt call City Hall and ask. Because everyone's answers may be different. What is required in one state or city may differ.
I would just call and ask that way you are completly prepared.
Also Congradulations.

That's because not only is it different from state to state, it's different from county to county.
Call YOUR city hall & they will be able to give you the particulars.
Usually you need
your partner.
ID--state, driver's license, visa ( not the credit card)
Sometimes a blood test
Sometimes a witness
Divorce decree
Sometimes a death certificate
parent if you are under age
Indiana used to require a physical exam from the bride but not the groom!
Usually there is a recorded message that will give you what you need.

You will need your license, Social Security Card, Copy of birth certificate and if you've been divorced take those papers with you. Although the requirements of information are all different at different places for marriage. Better to take all four things mentioned. Those are the main information asked for. ~Good Luck~

You need the following :
Birth Certificate
Another form of ID like your drivers license
Divorce papers if you have been married before
Cash or Check to pay for the license.
I just got married 2 years ago and this was what I needed in the State of NY. Florida is the same too.

Bring your license, and birth certificate, and if you've been divorced I would bring a copy of the divorce decree. But you could also check on line with the city government page there should be info there such as requirements ( blood tests ) and waiting periods. you could google the government page if you don't know the URL. Good luck :)

Make sure you take your future husband. He is required to be there as well. I also recommend finding your city's web site and looking at the directions for marriage certificates there. We pre-filled our marriage certificate form online, made an appointment, and saved a lot of time when we went in to pick it up.
