What do legal Mexican immigrants contribute to American life and culture?

I don't want to hear about ILLEGALS. I want to know what you see LEGAL immigrants contributing to American society. Thanks.

Hi, I live in south america. I have been an immigrant almost all my live (i lived in the caribean and europe for some years). Now im back in south america and see many american and european tourists visiting the beach in my city. No one treats these people bad or insults them or calls them "aliens", we call them tourists or americans with no negative meaning! Many americans live and establish in south america and work in minery or other fields. This happens in brazil, in the caribbean all over you have american immigrants!!!

I think what americans and europeans have to realize is that many white and european people think of themselves as being "better" because theire countries may be a bit more tecnologically advanced. Study your history and you will find out that all human beigns have been mixed for centuries and centuries, there is no pure race. And people of all races have contributed to tecnology and civilization always!
Bad and good people have been around in all coulors, races,sizes and sex. Do not stereotype! Stereotype and generalisation is the father of discrimination! The reason you people stereotepy is because many of the so called hispanic or foreign "imigrants" are poor people that seek for better lifes and so they leave their country of origin to establish themselve in the US or in Europe looking for an opportunity! Just as americans may immigrate to the caribean!!!Or africa to study apes or live among the african wildlife as shown on animal planet!!!!
This does not mean that all latin american or foreign countries have poor people only. You find poor everywere. And in the US there are millions of poor people in getthos as well. Its a World situation.
In my history books I studied that americans are european immigrants that came to north america and invaded and conquered it from the native indians?? Am i right??
This figure has been established in all the world for centuries!!! Nobody is to blame for history! English people went to great brittain who knows when and who knows how???? Maybe they were vikigns, or from germany or french territories and navigated to the great britain island!! Or do you really believe they evolved from english apes???

So what you have to ask yourselve is this: Do i want to live all my life with a stereotype figure in my head that being different means beign bad?? Or do i want to be an educated modern person that seeks for answers with logic and education???
Because your immigration problem in the US should be solved with tolerance and logic. If the US keeps on seperating and alienating hispanics and blacks and calls them; black american and hispanic american instead of "americans" the problem will never pass. People who are treated bad act as dogs that are being pestered!! They get negative and fall down in society. This is why many blacks in the US are falling into crime. They do not get equal opportunities.
Integrate your people and life as civilized human beings. In vietnam films the entire world saw many blacks fighting for their country and blacks are still being discriminated in america. This is a very egocentric attitude!! You also send many hispanics and blacks to fight for you in Irak. Am i right???

So i may be answering your question. One of the dirty works that legal immigrants do is : fight for your country!!
Integration is the key to solving discrimination problems!
The world watches america, be a good exmple if you want to call yourselve world leader! And world saver!!

The same thing the rest of the legal immigrants contribute. If you want to know some specific things I'd say food, some additions to how they celebrate holidays, added some great baseball players and actors and actresses, etc. But I have to say they would be latino....not necessarily just Mexican.

A diverse and balanced atmosphere. New cultural traditions, i.e Mexican food. A much-needed labor source. Taxes. Immigrants contribute as much, if not more, to American society, than those who were born here. Also, I am from India and immigrated when I was 6 (legally,) so don't go insulting immigrants. We pay taxes, are educated, and form a skilled labor base. I wonder what you would think about what immigrants contribute if you bought something from my dad's business or had my mom, an ER doc, save your life. Think about that.

Immigrants added 18 billion to the Texan economy, about 50 percent of Latinos are her legally, so dived by half and that's 9 billion dollars to the Texas economy. I'm sure it boosts the US economy a lot too.

Plus Latinos contribute alot to American culture, such as music, and movies. Also jobs that Americans won't take are filled.

Also any increasing trend is immigrants with college degrees coming here, they contribute to America, number one by increasing the population, which is necessary for any country to stand the test of time.

Legal Mexicans, that have assimilated, contribute to our country. But the ones who have, are usually ridiculed by their own people as being sellouts. So many don't assimilate, and act like illegals that just got here.

Hello, and in answer to your question I'll say that the Mexican and Latino citizens give to the fabric of this nation those same qualities that my family of Italians gave at the beginning of the 20th century; and those of my Welsh ancestors of two centuries before that; and those of all nations of peoples that come to this country to plant their roots and make a better life for their families.
We cannot say that America is for one race of people, nor for one religion, or color or sex.
After all, this country was founded on the principle that ALL peoples have the right of Life, Liberty and to pursue their Happiness in whatever field they wish.
