2 year olds still dont have alot of the coordination for things like basketball - but they enjoy kicking, throwing and catching balls.... so create games.... we used a laundry basket and would throw the balls in..... and we put a "target" on the fence to kick and throw at.
a trike, or peddle toy is great.... just make sure to set firm rules about riding in the street only with an adult, helmets etc (good opportunity to set rules that will be really important later)
a sand box is great for motor activity all of that digging, pouring, scooping, etc - and lots of fun.
jump ropes and hola-hoops are probably difficult for traditional uses.... but lay them on the ground and imagine a tightrope or play jumpin-jump out and play silly music or make up songs....
indoors is harder.... especially in cold or rainy weather.... put on music and dance to your hearts content... we would also make obstacle courses using blanket, pillows, tables and chairs... by crawling under-over-through they got lots of muscle work....
throw every pillow you own into a pile and crawl up the mountain.... and then roll down
the only limit is your imagination.... dont be afraid to be silly and play with your child.... make it up as you go.

Assuming that you want to know things that are good to stimulate gross motor development, I would suggest things like:
running
climbing
jumping
throwing a ball
tricycle riding
trampoline (with supervision only)
swimming lessons
