This has been asked to death. You have folks who say "live and let live" and "let them in".... All races make up illegal immigrants so let not make this a racist now. You have hispanics who "assume" that everyone is harping on them, etc etc.
My question is to those who do say "live and let live" and let them all in... Are you folks going to pay for them? Are you going to pay for the increase in social spending? What is your plan to pay for the drain on social services in towns and cities? Or should all Americans foot the bill which will hurt the middle class and raise our taxes to support non-citizens?
Your forgetting this is not a socialized society (thank God), there is still personal responsibility and you have to make it yourself. You cant keep always asking for a hand out....

Everyone will pay for it. The middle class will probably be hurt the most.
There are already big drains in the border states as is. The federal government gives these states very little.
I guess we need to see how the new Congress will stick it to us. It is like a wait and see situation.

My only beef with illegal immigration is that I don't want unknown persons coming into the country because out of the millions that just want to work and support their families, you could get a few that would want to do us harm. Illegal immigration has contributed to the United States in the form of cheap labor. Fair or not, I'm not trying to pay $10 for strawberries or oranges. Americans love to eat out, (especially here in NYC) why do you think that as expensive as NYC is to eat out, it is about half of what you would pay in Paris or London? All the undocumented kitchen help keep restaurant prices low. Our economy has grown from manufacturing to a service industry and Illegals provide a cheap source of labor. Also, low labor costs promote business growth and expansion as well which therefore increases tax revenue. Yes, some of our taxes are spent on services for illegals but in turn, illegals have helped expand our economy which more than pays for what they cost us. They still need to rent a place to live, buy food to eat, buy products here so they are paying a sales tax.
Immigration into the US is extremely difficult. My problem is undocumented workers secretly coming in. I don't know who they are and some might even want to do harm to us.
I think we should encourage as much legal immigration as possible into the US to compete directly with China by losening immigration laws and allowing temporary work visas which could eventually lead to a green card. As long as you are not a criminal and after a backround check you should pretty much be allowed in. A large source of cheap labor would entice the European Union or other industrialized nations to dole out manufacturing jobs to the US as opposed to China. It would also keep manufacturing jobs IN the US as well. Remember, it is off the backs of illegal laborers that ALL OF US have a very high standard of living as compared to the rest of the world. (For example, me and my wife eat out very often at fine restaurants in the city and travel internationally very frequently as well as have several investments ie. gold, real estate domestically and internationally, stocks, bonds etc.) Unless we want the gravy train to end I suggest you be careful what you wish for because you just might get it.

they should all be sent to their nation of origin and that nation should be sent the bill for food transportation and employee expenses. if that nation does not pay the tab should be added to anny debt owed between the 2 nations

Everybody talking against illegals have a paper a**hole because when GW Bush starts talking about not giving amnesty only guest workers. Politicians have silver tounges. He will give them amnesty and there is nothing we can do about it.
