Yeah, why not?
As long as you keep on top of your work -which is super easy to do once you're out of school; when you think about it, classes themselves are only 40 minutes long, and about a quarter of that is new information- you'll be fine. I've actually been more social since leaving school.

Right. You should be able to be home-schooled for any "reason" ... but clearly you need someone willing to do all of the preparation and to teach you and work with you. You need to follow established curriculum and your papers, etc. should be reviewed by the group that oversees home schooling. If it goes well, the education can be great. But do make sure that you find social outlets and opportunities to meet/be with other young people, to develop your social skills.
If you end up staying in public/private school, join clubs and try to extend yourself a bit more to others. And/or do some volunteer work that helps you connect with others and feel good about yourself, too. Soon enough, you'll be an adult and the high school years will be behind you. At some future reunion you'll be surprised to learn that the people you don't like now felt as insecure as you do.
Good luck to you!

Like several others have said, you have to talk to your parents. I home school my son. It is like a full time job. If your parents are able to, and think that it is best for you, maybe they could do it. Just a suggestion, you could do a little research on the topic first and then take what you find to your parents. That would show them that it is something that you really want. Also, you mentioned not wanting to get up at 6:00 in the morning. Home Schooling also has many responsibilities. I make my son wake up at 7:00 and we start school at 8:00. This way he develops a good habit of being able to wake up early and not be lazy. After all, when you get a real job, more than likely you will have to wake up early as well. I disagree with one writer saying that you could turn out to be an "anti-social weirdo." This is a common misconception that people find is not true after doing a little research. Anyone, including public, private, or home schooled students are able to turn out anti-social or weirdos. There are lots of clubs, sports, dances, and home school organizations out there to be very involoved in. Also, there are "schools" that are called Home School Hybrid. You can be home schooled three days a week and go to an accredited school for home schoolers the other two days. My son is involved with something almost everyday and is around kids. He has plenty of friends. The picture that is often portrayed of home schoolers is one of being stuck in the house 24/7 and never socializing with other human beings. This is simply not true (at least the majority of the time). It is important to socialize and make sure that your parents are not only able to educate you, but also have the time to take you to all of the social events that you will need. If your parents are interested and able to do it, they can check to see what the home schooling laws are in your state. It is important, of course, to follow these laws. Good luck to you!

If your parents want to, then what's the problem? If they don't, you may have some work to convince them, because they really will have to take charge of your education, and they may not feel up to it, or they may not feel they have the time. Is one of them home most of the day? Explain your reasons (more than just not wanting to get up early, I hope), and patiently answer their questions and reassure them you really will do the work and comply with the requirements set out by the school. They usually have a program they expect you to complete, but it's apparently so plug-easy a home schooled kid can do what they expect for the week in a single day, and spend the rest of the time learning what is actually of interest to you.
Good luck! Statistics show home schooled kids are getting better SAT scores, winning spelling bees and other contests, and generally proving themselves to be way ahead of the public school kids. They do way better in college, too.

In my area there is a school called IQ academy. It works through the public school system, so you learn everything you would in regular HS. One of my co-workers has all 3 of his kids in it. They recieve aid from the state to pay for it, and they get a laptop computer to use while they are in school. I wish this was around when I wanted to home school. My parents wouldn't let me, they didn't think it was real ( homeschooling that is). My husband was homeschool for most of highschool. According to him, when you finish certain homework at a higher rate of speed, and you actually know what you're doing, they give you harder things to learn. So, you would actually be smarter. he's pretty darn smart, and so is his brother. Very high IQ's. You just really have to keep at it. if you don't work at a proper pace, you will never make it work! Good Luck to you.

yes..you could be homeschooled...but if you are make sure you are on some kind of sports team so you can interact with other kids. let me warn you...im homeschooled and its not like you have no work you actualy have more work than regular school. Calvert is a very good homeschool program and they even have classes online so its like you go to school from home but its like your at school with no waking up at 5 or 6 o' clock. its ecpecialy fun because you get to iteract with kids from all over the country. it might take some convincing to get your parents to do it (if your realy up for it)

It is possible but you would have to have a parents permission first. Depending on the state you are in you would also have to go with their guidlines. We live in Arkansas so all we have to do is fill out an intent to home school form. Before venturing into the home schooling world first I would talk to my parents or guardians, make sure you would be self motivated to do your work everyday, and find a local support group to meet people with your same intrests. Most cities have home schooling support groups so I would start there. Blessings, Steph

Yea. If your parents want to homeschool you. But I warn you, if you are homeschooled you might turn out an anti social weirdo.:-)
Then again... as long as you do the same amount of school work as the normal schooled kids it's ok. Don't let your parents let you fall behind.

people usually get homeschool like in teh countryside where less people tend to live. i think that not being homeschooled is better becasue you can socialize more with other people , also you learn from other people, and its better to face the world just to get use to it becasue tell u one thing, there is competition in the world.
