Everyone seems to be so against immigration. With the main problem about them taking our jobs.

But you see if they take a job the money they get they spend on food, rent, taxes and other stuff. This all goes back into the economy providing someone else with a job. It's what I call the economic balance. It's things like education which is the foundation of a successful economy which effects the balance.

Also they come over for a better life. And sometimes because there lives were threatened. Also remember that in colinial times we took there land, so why shouldn't they take ours.lol

They're not actually taking over our nations and destroying our traditions. Take Australia, 25% of people there were born in a different country, and it makes the country a nicer place. The USA should allow lots of immigrants as that's how the nation started because of European settlers. They took the land from the indians so the US ought to allow immigrants.

Can anyone prove me wrong?

I'm on about legal immigration

I can't prove you wrong, because I belive you are right.

The thing with the USA is, that even when an illegal shows he wants papers and to do things the right way, he is still shunned because originally he got into the country illegally. Although it's near impossible for say, a Mexican to enter the US.

The fact they persicute them, even when they try to do right is just wrong. If these people were given a chance I believe they would be good citizens. It's only the bad press they get that stops Americans realising these are people, just like themselves, and once their ancestors were just like the Mexicans, no papers, illegally working etc.

EDIT:

I don't think there is a problem with legal immigration. At least, the only main worry would be when a country joins the EU and an influx of people descend on Britain for jobs. This is only a worry because when a large number of people come looking for housing and jobs at one time, it can put a strain on resources. It's not a direct problem with the immigrants themselves.

Number 1- we are talking about america, not other countries, because I for one, don't care what other countries allow the illegal immirgrants to do, but here we have to set laws and abid by them.Yes, this country was founded on people coming here in the 1500-1800's.That was before we were busting at the seems. We can't afford any more illegal immigrants from Mexico, they are using our hospitals,ss,welfare system, housing assistance, and everything else they can get, and they don't give nothing in return. We are running out of money that our fore-fathers worked for, there will be no more ssi in the future, and that is something for you to think about.
They are obtaining dead peoples ss number and using it,they don't pay taxes, their kids don't have to have all the shots our kids have to have to start school. Diseases that we got rid of,are back. Do it the right way.Don't use the cathelic church to hide you and sneek you in,don't pay people to bring you in,don't marry, and the one thing I don't under stand- their president from mexico said they are making their country richer,10 million a month richer, boy could we use that economy.
As far as them doing the min wage jobs, in Lousianna 2-30-2006 the fast food were paying 10.00an hour. and I under stand, that white people don't work in fields anymore, where are you from, we still do here where I live. And we take care of the old people, and some of us stil believe that we are the best mothers for our children.

I'm in London and it is illegal immigration or at least the illegal activities of some immigrants that is the problem and which turns communities and indiginous people into not trusting them.

Many of these illegals operate in gangs: we have Chinese DVD gangs who make their smuggled people sell counterfeit dvd's on the street to fund crime, we have other immigrants who specialise in identity theft, and general financial theft costing individuals and finance billions of pounds. Others bring women to London promising them a better life, on arrival the women find themselves made to prostitute themselves in locked up brothels and unable to escape. SOME, not all immigrants simply take their criminal ways to new countries and they ruin communities and peoples lives - that is why many people are so upset with illegal immigrants/those associated with illegal activities/organised crime.

The job factor in building trades is a problem I think, but generally immigrants are willing to work for less and so push salaries down - many can only afford to work for less because they may not be paying tax, national insurance and may also be on benefits. The UK, London especially is very very expensive, that is why Brits who work honestly have to earn a higher wage, they cant work the wages that some immigrants do unless they also abuse the system - we live in one of the most expensive cities in the world.

We'd all love the perfect world of cultural diversity but it doesn't work, and it doesn't because in the UK our system is flawed and too lenient against those 'negative' immigrants and unfortunately not supportive enough of those that are deserving and deserve a better life.

Another painful liberal viewpoint. People have what is known as a tolerance! I went to university in a northern town in the uk. By the end of the 3 years even the once liberal students were almost signing up for the BNP. And cultures are different. The immigration from romania and bulgaria that we are to endure is not going to do anyone any favours. Ive been to these countries and they are not like england. The corruption and crime that is present there is considered the norm. Imagine an area of london where there is a lot of albanians and a lot of serbians. I can assure you they are not going to be dancing around holding hands. There is a limit, and when the whole of eastern europe comes running over here ill point them in the direction of your neighbourhood.

Before the east Europeans joined the EU, the Home Office said that immigration of new workers from the region would run at the rate of 13,000 a year.

That has been shown to be at least 10 times lower than the true figure.

Our government knows everything about economic balance.

Actually, a lot of that money is sent back and many afford to do that by taking social benefits here for themselves and or their children that we fund to pay for our own people.

You can't have subsidized services like education and unlimited immigration of people too poor to pay enough taxes to cover the $10,000 per child per year it costs to educate their children much less the other services poor people use.

The Indians did not have to put our children in their schools and pay more for our children because our children didn't speak their languages. Our schools are being ruined. My latest ancestors came over in the 1860's and they and their neighbors donated land and BUILT a school and passed the hat for a teacher.

Don't tell me this is the same thing.

some immigration is fine but i dont call 600,000 polish people a good thing. We are being swamped with people and it feels like were losing everything we ever had as a nation!

Thanks, Alasdair, I love you, man. I'm an immigrant in UK.

About "them stealing jobs" I'd like to point out - the employers won't hire someone who is not good for the job, so if they choose a non-British person over a British one, they know why they do it.

In England for instance in the construction industry you find that where a plasterer or plumber charge around £160 per day on a site, a polish or other eastern European worker will do the same job for around £40. Obviously employers then don't want to employ English workers and end up with cheaper though sub-standard work.
