You aren't giving enough info here. A stupid reason to some, could in all actuality be very valid. If there really are temper issues, and your mother is willing and able, talk to her forst before making any decisions. I think that you do have the ability to petition the court to go be w/ mom.

First) You would need to have someone who would agree to legally be responsible for you, such as your mom or aunt and uncle. You couldn't just move in with a friend. If you don't have someone like that you would have to go into foster care.
Second) If you have a relative agreeing to take you, have them there with you as an advocate when you tell your dad.
Third) If you don't have a relative and need to go to foster care, you need to contact Children Protective Services so they can remove you from the home. If you tell them your dad scares you when he gets angry and tell them about punching holes in the wall, they will probably remove you. Even if your dad doesn't hit you, it is abuse. It is mental and emotional abuse.
Fourth) Whatever you do, don't just confront him. With his temper he might turn on you.

Have to be a little more specific on the stupid reason, reason I ask, is that I am a single father with two teenage daughters and we don't always see eye to eye on things, but we do talk, and we come up with options and ideas, so that is why I ask about the stupid reason???

I think you would do well to go to a certified counselor or psychologist. Your father has an emotional problem and understanding it may help you understand other men in your life, not to mention children one day. Sorry about this.

Well it depends on if your parents are divorced. If you are really scared of what he will do to you then you should talk to your school especially if he leaves marks on you. also when he seriously does stuff like that you can call the police they can help you too.
