Because they COULDNT DRAW.
Geez, isnt it obvious? If they were intelligent and talented they would have come up with a better story.

They originally were planning to do it as a comic book, except the illustrator [like most comic book artists] drew all the females with really big chests. Also, he wanted to give Jesus red tights and X-Ray vision. So, after firing the artist, God decided He might be better off leaving the Bible as text-only.

Do you have difficulty reading? Why don't you visit your local bookstore and pick up a bible for small children. Some have quite a few pictures.
