First of all, before I ask this I feel the need to say that I honestly don't mean to offend anybody with this. Whether you feel that you are a Muslim, an Atheist, a Christian, a Pagan, a Scientologist, an Agnostic, a Jew, a Chinese, a European, a man, a woman, a child, a dog or other animal, a life-guard, a police officer or any other job, whether you feel insecure, arrogant, silly, happy or sad, whether you are big, small, huge, tiny, fat, tiny, rich or poor. Whether you have one or two or three hands, straight, gay, bi-sexual, pedosexual, even if you're turned on by lawn mowers or watering cans...Really, I honestly, sincerely mean no offense with this.

Rats, again not enough space left to ask a real question.

Oh well. Do you also have the feeling that a religious section kinda loses its purpose if every question needs a long disclaimer because the basic assumption is that every question is meant to offend ?

No i don't think it loses it's purpose, every person who wishes to can ask whatever question is niggling them, BUT it must not specifically cause offense in terms of bad language like some we have seen on here. There is no need for that kind of behaviour.

The rest depends on how open minded a person is, i feel everyone needs to possess an open mind to be able to learn and educate other.

some people may feel disclaimers are needed because they don't want people to jump to the wrong conclusion immediately and feel they need to explain themselves first in detail as you have done very meticulously

Have you dyed your hair? why have you chosen green colour for this??

Oops to answer the real question , yes it is losing its purpose , and many (though not all) of the questions are meant to offend others....I m feeling even more distance from other religions after joining this forum instead of getting something good...peoples are spreading hatred here most of the times.

You have to be realistic about your expectations from a question, for example if I post a hard hitting question challenging creationism I expect it to be removed, and several of them have been, even if it falls within the community guidelines set out by Yahoo. You're always going to offend someone but the question is are you going to offend them enough to complain and have you violated.

NO. and I don't have religion I have a relationship.
I don't get offend because I know who I am, and who Is the author and finisher of my faith. most of the time people are offend because they are not confidant in who they are and what they believe . And some times, others try to offend people on purpose . what type of answer were you truly seeking . one filled with a return sarcasm.because when you are trying not to offend you usually don't start with words that separate, by color, gender ,sex,or religion (so the question was?)

Mr. Markster:
I do not proceed on the basis that every question is meant to offend.
Every question, asked sincerely, is valid.
There are offensive types on here, with there stupid comments and questions ....however, they are stupid because they are not sincere.

Yes. But that's the way it is with (most, not all) religious people. You can't wipe your own butt with out someone getting offended.

I hope I understood the question... I think it really is loosing it's purpose because of lots of scientists who can explain everything, but there are also things which they can't explain is'n it so?
