It is hard to say, as the concept of a year is fairly new. Mankind, until recently(given the age of this planet, and its people) didn't know the earth went around the sun. We didn't know that it took 365.25 days to do so. Therefore, the modern version of the year is a "new" concept. At this point, you would have to trust the writings of those times.

Interesting note, especially when people talk about living for 700 years, or so. If you take the lunar cycle, at about a month, 720 months would be 60 years. So, possibly, someone who lived 700 years in ancient times, may very well have lived well into his late 50's.

i don't think this is a theory, but something I either heard or thought of many years ago.
