In less than two weeks I will probably have to take a drug test for court. I haven't smoked pot since my arrest and have probably quit for good. That will be about a month, and from what i have heard/read it takes about a month for it to clear out of your system.

However, last night i went to a bar and went to go use the bathroom and when i opened the door breathed in a big cloud of pot smoke mixed with cigarettes. It was only one breath because i immediately left. Will this affect passing my drug test? Should I do something else to help eradicate it from my system?

And does anyone have any helpful links that i could read on this subject?

Yes. it will affect your drug test for the next two months, however, to help yourself eradicate it out even more, try Golden Seal and cranberry juice, drinking a lot of the juice, you actually pee it out of your system. But I know Golden Seal works, because I worked with a lady that smoked, and that was how she was able to pass her drug test to get the job in the first place.
However, I am a recoverying alcholic/addict, and are you taking steps to help yourself stay off of pot? like NA or even AA? Have you really decided to stay off of pot? If you have, then these 12-Step programs can really help you!
This also happened to me one time when I was working drive-thru at McDonalds. The car that came to my window, there were like 6 people in the car and all six was smoking, and when I opened my window to take their money, I got a contact high, and was peranoid that everyone knew I was feeling a little stoned. LOL

I'm thinking that if you didn't get high then it'll be ok. If your drug test does show it then maybe you should hopefully not be around them when they smoke in the future. But I think you are safe. Good luck.

It probably won't affect your drug test if you only took a small breath. If it does show up, tell them what happened. It's completely understandable if only a slight trace was found in your drug test.

heres what I would do.... When you do have to take your drug test.... Tell them exactly what happened ... you may have slight traces in your system but they will be able to tell if you actually inhaled and smoked marijuana or if it was just due to you being near it.... just be honest... good luck and god bless

I think so because people always say that second hand smoke can cause cancer and stuff. You should tell them that this happened because if they detect it then you really have no excuse for it.

No it wont affect it. I live with a smoker and I don't smoke. I breathe it all the time. I passed my drug test! You dont get the THC in your system if you dont smoke it directly, you'll be fine.
