It can be both ways due to the fact the illegals that work at a lower wage , have no benefits and on average have families. Those familes use public education (school lunches can not be denied according to legal status)and healthcare. If they don't pay - the hospitals bill the government healthcare system(aka -welfare)
While many employers complain that they cannot find Americans willing to do work, the truth is illegal immigrants are the ones willing to work for the minimum wage jobs. All too often, the employers take advantage of the alien, weak situation. When these aliens come over from the border and find a place to settle, they eventually get themselves into a financial bind. They need to work, so they rush for a job. When they apply for a job, the employer can abuse the fact that this person is an illegal immigrant and, therefore, pay this person minimum wage, in fact, he really deserves much more. There is nothing that this alien can do except to go ahead and take that job. Thus, illegal aliens not only take away jobs, but also reduce the salary level of existing jobs.
Another main problem in the United States today is crime. Crime comes in many different forms, such there is rape, murder, theft, etc. When immigrants come to the United States illegally, no background report is given to our government on that person. An illegal immigrant could be a big time drug dealer who fled his country to start a new life.
The government pays about $75 million annually, for incarceration. Twenty-five percent of the inmates in federal prisons are illegal immigrants, this percentage does not include state prisons.
Children of illegal immigrants will go to public schools and deprive American kids of a good education. School overpopulation itself, without the help of illegal immigrants, is already a big problem. All over the country where the population is high, schools are being overcrowded. The school cannot support and fund so many children.
Illegal immigration is a problem that affects all Americans.

The unemployment rate is high. It is important to note that the 7.7% unemployment rate you see in the news doesn't include people who spent 2 years looking for work and then gave up because nobody would give them a chance. It also excludes people who work 5-15 hours a week and are pretty much unemployed. And they don't include people who have jobs but are on food stamps because their salaries are too low for them to be able to buy enough food for the month. If all of those factors were taken into consideration, the real unemployment rate would be 20%. Plus, many of the people who are employed now were already employed before the recession so they haven't had to try and seek work. And many others have years and years of experience under their belt from before the recession, so if they apply for a job they'll be hired within 6 months of filling out applications. For new college graduates, the unemployment rate is 50%, though.

Who are you asking about; Illegal aliens or Americans on welfare. In my opinion, the difference is that the vast majority of aliens, legal or illegal are willing to do the jobs those on welfare will not do.
Thus, why work when you can stay on welfare and have those that work for a living support you and your "right" to continually procreate and use resources not commensurate with contribution.

So, are you saying that Americans deserve the jobs that are being taken? Or, are you trying to say that welfare should be reserved for lazy people?
Or, are you saying that American jobs should go to lazy people who are Americans? I do not understand your line of reasoning?

I dont hate them for any reason. I would like to see them come here legally. They do work but they also take advantage of social benefits that they dont pay into. In my city we hold 6 weeks of school in the summer for migrant workers children. These are people who do not pay into the system but reap the benefit of it. Then the school admiisration says we cant afford to build better schools for our own children.

If you really want my old serving or cleaning job, you can have it. I took it and had choices, in a sense. This industry discriminates against women and minorities. I now work as a booking agent for a company, where we are all treated equal. I might like to see the German guy who looks like Hitler and tells bad anti-Semitic jokes fired, but that is not my doing. Why the hell do people hate Jews, anyway? I do not understand it, (another issue).
As for welfare, it is not a case of being 'too lazy to work'. Single and teenage mothers, people with disabilities, elderly people, troubled kids, etc. are not 'too good to work'. They are troubled.
The real troublemakers live on and off the street, sell drugs to support their crack and crystal meth habits, engage in stealing, money-laundering, and will threaten people to get what they want. They come up to you as if you were a friend and demand cash and get upset if you don't give it. They are hateful and like to harass people and have followed me and yelled at me. Those people can be carried off to jail, as suits them.

I-Wish-I-could-say-this, in-writing, slow-enough-for-you-to-be, able-to-under-stand!
The market that has been created is wanting to use the illegal and undocumented workers that do not file for any work related benifits because they can't!
Everytime they become legal, they are now in turn replaced by a new illegal! We have another on the welfare rolls! Next!

Go look at LA and the Southwest. Each time one of them shuffles over the fence, they bring with them part of the hell hole that they are fleeing from. Like rats from a ship with plague fleas.
