thick layer of cow manure, yes i'm being serious. it works for me. just lay over a tad bit of toilet paper, and the manure and toilet paper will become one, and when they harden together, peel it off and wash it.

How can you prevent something from happening-- after it happens?

You can stop your bleeding after shaving by some of the other examples given here.

But, I think planning produces premium performance!

Having never shaved my legs I may not be qualified to answer this, but I think that if you don't use a cheap razor then you won't cut yourself. Also, try shaving right after showering when your skin and leg hair stubble are softened by the hot water.

I'm assuming that you do use shave cream.

it depends on how deep is the cut. get a piece of cloth, make a ball out of it, and press hard on the cut for a couple of minutes. it should stop bleeding or at least slows down a bit. if the cut is really deep, then consult a doctor, but i doubt that a shaving cut would be really deep. good luck.

I work in a nursing home and every time this old man cuts him self shaving he gets me to put pepper on it and it stops bleeding. I have tryed this when i have cut my self shaving and it does work and doesn't sting at all.

right now just elevate it to be the highest point of your body and apply pressure. once i had a cut that wouldn't stop bleeding and i put flour on the wound to make it clot--definitely a worst case scenario type thing.

for future nicks you could invest in a styptic pen, which is made of a mineral called alum that has antiseptic properties and also stops bleeding on contact. you just wet the pen with cold water and place on the cut until it stops bleeding. i found one made by The Art of Shaving that can be purchased online

Those little surface cuts seem to never stop bleeding! Hold some dirct pressure on it a minute or two and then stick some toilet tissue to it like you see guys do to their faces-it works1

If you use tissue to stop the bleeding when you take it off you might open the cut again, vaseline or something like it works way better....you just wipe it off.
