Wild game is perfectly safe to eat as long as the animal was healthy when killed and slaughtered in the proper manner. Wild rabbits should only be harvested in the colder months of the year, however, since they are susceptible to getting warbles (a maggot from a wasp...I don't think you would want to eat one of those.) And, as another poster said, game meat is much leaner than farm raised animals.

Depends on the meat of course, but in general game meat is leaner and much lower in cholesterol than most farmed meat.
Also, it is much less likely to have high levels of antibiotics and female hormones in as a lot of cattle does, especially in the United States.
Of course, depending on the manner of killing the game, you do have an increased likelihood of breaking a filling on a piece of lead shot.
Good luck and enjoy.

Better for you as they have not been kept anywhere & grain fed food. They eat from the wild all nature. Just remember game meat does have a bit of a stong taste to some people but if cooked right you'll enjoy it.

I'm thinking they are not fed steroids are antibiotics and eat natural things like berries and nuts. I'll eat wild game any day over beef raised in a cage.

Is eating chemical and growth hormone loaded meat good for you? I'd feel much more comfortable eating something from the woods than something from one of those factories.

I live on whitetailed deer and wild turkey. I kill them myself and prepare them myself. I do not have any health problems. I also grow my own veggies. Too much preservatives in the store bought junk.

Better, because they don't contain steroids and growth hormone. Just don't eat the livers because of environmental pollution.
p.s. Lozatron, where are you that you can use lead shot? That's been banned for years.

No, most game meat has less fat than grain fed animals. So it is actually better for you.
