A person or a group? I think the most positive mark was left by - in American - Martin Luther King, Jr and others like him ( followers). I think the most negative - strict Christians of today.

Positive - *anyone* who has refused to take up arms in religious crusades. A brief perusal of history will quickly see that most wars have been waged for this reason.
Negative - those sheep who willingly believe what they are told and carry out the dirty work for their 'masters'.
I'm sure I'll get the proverbial thumbs down for not picking Jesus Christ, but hey, examine what I said and you'll see I am right...

Negative: that's a HARD one... um... recently I'll say George W. Bush... historically I can't peg any ONE
