the absolute best is a new brand just coming out called Organix. Its got organic active ingredients and is sulfate free, so it won't dry out your hair...and the fragrances are amazing! You'll be able to get Organix over the next few weeks at Kroger, Target, Albertsons, Safeway, Duane Reade, etc. you'll love it!!!

It does depend what kinda of hair you have. So let's divide this in 2.

If you have Oily and limp hair.. you need a shampoo and conditioner that's a cleanser... that can releif you of the dirt and oil we accumalate.
Something like Pantene ( clear looking bottle ) is good.

If you have Dry and damaged hair you need a moisturising shampoo and conditioner. The key ingridents that lubricate you hair are Cyclopentasiloxane and Dimethicone and they are found in your conditioner, this is what lubricates you hair and leave it feeling moisturized.

If you do have dry and damaged hair....a good idea is to make sure the shampoo is creamy and not clear like the one for oily hair.

After a month or two, you might think your shampoo stops working. This happens because of build up and I recommend you switch to a cleanser to recieve best experience with your hair.

** note Buying expensive shampoos and conditioners will not make a difference, remember that everything ( those vitamins and fruit oils go down the drain ) it's all about the economy. Just try out which one works best for you. According to a poll , Herbal essense was chosen 9 times more than the other brands. Maybe this helps. :)

Well, it depends on what kind of hair you have, and what kind you want to have. Sunsilk has shampoo and conditioners for every hair type, and for things you want your hair to do. It may be three or four dollars, but it's worth it. It really works, too!!
