A pepperdew is a unique pepper fruit that comes from South Africa (discovered in 1994) that is bright red and slightly larger than cherry tomato.

It is sweet and piquante (but not too hot).

I've seen on TV it being sold pickled in jars (like cherry peppers) and it seems to be popular with some trendy restaurants right now (several web hits to restaurant menus).

Never actually had one yet myself.

Peppadew is a trade name for pickled piquante peppers. And for some reason there were none in my local supermarket when I went to do the shopping today :-( I need them for a recipe I want to try.

Pepperdews are a similar to peppers, red in colour and spicy in taste. I've seen them in recipes with feta cheese.
