A priest gets up in the morning, and says the daily office (usually the hour of matins.) Then they probably take part in the daily Mass, if it is a weekday. A priest must say Mass once during the day, but if the priest does not say this Mass and another priest does, our hypothetical priest may be in the confessional starting about fifteen minutes before Mass, waiting for penitents.
The priest, if a parish priest, will spend part of the day in the office, planning parish or diocesan activities with key volunteers or the parish secretary. They may have some counselling sessions as well.
Some priests also have a role outside the parish, and will visit any affiliated Catholic schools and preside over Mass there. The priest may visit shut-ins with communion, if the parish does not have a deacon. The priest may say Mass at a retirement home.
In the evening, if there is no Mass or communal Vespers, a priest might often share a meal with a parishioner (a priest will still have to find a way to meet their Daily Office obligations.) They they might, finally, take a break, or work on a homily. Finally, at the end of the day, Compline is said, and the day ends.

Answers question on Yahoo Answers in the Religion and Spirituality section.....LOL
Hope fully a good priest is taking care of the believers in his congregation, praying for the needs of people, visiting the shut in an sick, and preparing for what the message will be for the next sunday.
and depending on the size of the congregation, there any many activities that need to be done during the course of the week (bible study, children's groups, senior citizens groups)
At least those are the area I try to cover in a week's time.....
if you want an actual list of what a minister/priest does in the course of a week just contact my e-mail and i can help you
hope that helps some

A priest is like a CEO, he has employees he has to supervise, ministries he has to organize or oversee, sermons he has to prepare, people he has to call on, hospitals patients that he has to visit.

Well Sinstar,
Priests are obliged to make up their sermon.
That should take care of one day.
The other 6?
I don't really know.
I do know what they could be doing, but I imagine a large number really do imbibe and waste alot of time.

So far i think they sit around and count all the money those poor saps gave to the church instead of going out and giving the money to someone who needs it!! maybe the look through magazines and see what the next pair of expensive shoes they are going to suggest the pope buys!!!!!
The pope has been seen all over with shoes and hats that cost thousands of dollars!!
