It does not discuss fighting over his bones, rather speaks of his bones being buried in a secret place to keep this occurrence from happening. It is in the Vally of Moab.

It was not the bones, it was the body of Moses. Satan wanted to decompose the body of Moses, but was not being allowed because God has future tasks for him in the final days.
Jude 9
Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”

It MIGHT be that Satan wanted the body of Moses so the people could worship it.
OR
God was going to resurrect Moses for the appearance on the Mount of Transfiguration ... and Satan was saying "NO, not at this time!!!" Satan knows the Resurrection is coming ... but it is not yet the time.

JUDE vs.9---------- and it wasn't over bones it was over his body they were "disputing", for if the devil could have had the body of Moses then he could have seen to it that a shrine was erected to it so that the peoples focus would have been on "man" rather than God.

Actually, God buried Moses in an unknown location so that the children of Israel would not worship them.
Oh, yeah. Well, Satan is apt to fight over the strangest things.
