We find this very easy to use but find it takes a good few seconds after we take a photo before we can take another. Also to get a whole object in we need to "move back" in order to get the whole shot in. Can anyone who is a bit of a whizz with digital cameras either recommend an easy to use camera that will do these things we want it to, or tell us what we need to be looking for?
Many Thanks

Look into these 3; of which Fugi is cheaper than the other two.
Fugifilm Fine Pix S5200; 5 megapixels, 10X optical zoom.
Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H2; 6 MP, 12X optical.
Canon PowerShot S2 IS. 6 MP, 12X optical. Look into Website dpreview

I also have a Fuji FinePix and it is a very good camera. You don't say if the camera has an optical/digital zoom; this would be one way to get more of your picture in view, zoom in or out, or walk back a few paces.

Look for a camera with a with good zoom facility, the lower zoom gives a wider angle of view, while the higher the zoom the narrow the field of view.

Why not up grade to a digital SLR with a zoom lens of greater proportions and a higher pixel rating.?

Make sure you get a camera with an optical zoom lens. Digital zoom is just an advertising gimmick. Decide what the biggest print size you want to make since this dictates the resolution you want the camera to have. Those two items will be limited by your budget but stick to name brands regardless.
I have owned many bands in the past 40 years but always return to Nikon for value not price.

I would highly recommend Canon. I think it has the best lighting of all the different cameras; skin tones look very natural. The Powershot S3 is pretty impressive but has a lot of features which, if you don't need, could be a waste of money. Any of the Powershot SD ones could also be good, they're small and inexpensive.

get a camera where you can either interchange or add a wide angle lens to it. with a wide angle lens, you wont have to "move back" in order to get the whole shot in. i have the canon s3 is, bought a lens adapter and wide angle lens for about $180. pretty much any new camera today wont have the lag time between photos like you mentioned, they are all pretty fast today. you could try getting a faster memory card. a low memory card could be the case.

it depends how much you wanna spend for it but if you want a good digital camera thats pretty easy to use... look at the Canon Digital Rebel XT. its about $700 i think at like B&H. I bought a Canon 20D cause i dont like the slight delay after pressing the shutter button..

I don't know too much about cameras but I have the Kodak easyshare C300 and it's brilliant. I take pictures and they are very clear and then I just plug into the computer and download or sit camera on the easyshare port and print them off. Sorted!

I would suggest canon. I have 3 of them and they are wonderful.
Go to the canon site and then to shopzilla for a more reasonable price.
