The contest originally stated parents must be of legal status. Toys r us first said they couldn't award the prize, then took it back. Hopefully the right thing can be done and the parents can be sent home. When they apply to enter legally, things will be done correctly.

poor maggie...I didn't say anything about taking away the 25K that shouldn't have gone to the child to begin with. My question was to when the parents would be legally deported.

Who knows, perhaps this story will bring the family to government/national attention, and the GOV will begin the necessary procedures to deport them.
It's ridiculous that TRU rescinded their original decision, which was in line with the contest rules. TRU has lost my business, because they're flaky, and duplicitous. Caving in to super-juvenile accusations, from the Chinese American advocates, no less. I hope TRU loses a lot of USA business behind this. The stuff is overpriced anyway!

now they will never be deported...it would be politically incorrect to do it now...the various human rights and ethnic groups would be all over that and TRU can not and does not want the bad publicity, hence why they went back on their original ruling and now the child is an anerican citizen for being born here so what you deport the parents and leave the child here...i feel TRU should not have given in like this, that's why people need to read the rules,i forgot if you are here illegally most likely you can't read or speak english

They most likely will not be deported. But now that they have 25,000 dollars maybe the government should not pay their hospital bills. And now there are restraunts accepting the paso in the United States. Good Thing Rick Perry is tough on the border.

The rules were specific.
The parents were illegals.
Doesn't it seem reasonable if the rules are being tweaked that next year everyone from around the world will rush to the US for a chance of prize $.....?
It was very charitable for Toys R Us to give to all 3 babies...............but I believe the rule was parents were to be US residents...........not illegals!
Hope the rules are in BOLD print for next year.

They will not be deported as they reside in the world's greatest city--a santuary city at that. Did you notice that Toys R Us reversed their decision. Seems they aren't interested in upsetting the Chinese community as they just opened up their first store in Shanghai--and since most of their items are made in Chinese factories.

properly, its rather easy particularly, if we merely drop all the "racist anti-immigrant" and "bleeding heart liberal" noisy hysteria..... If the competition mentioned that "entrants had to be legal citizens" who's the "entrant?" the infant or its dad and mom? If the entrant is the infant, then the baby is in certainty a "legal resident" and that's all she wrote, he wins. If on the different hand, the dad and mom are the "entrants," why then no way are they entitled to win and caving in replaced right into a extreme lapse dedicated against the social order by potential of Toys R Us. era. Its the two one or the different and all the emotional hysteria is beside the point to the severe. it could be resolved in accordance to the rulers of the competition, purely! no longer in accordance to rants and raves approximately racism, unlawful immigration, colonialism, single status, social fascist "political correctness," immigration regulations or the different "crimson herring!" (between the worst factors of your u . s . is which you people hate to "play by potential of the regulations," a great form of the solutions right here even forget approximately with regards to the certainty that this contest had regulations. One fool even writes that the winners shouldn't take delivery of the prize, in spite of if the regulations have been observed, merely considering individual does not like "illegals." How can i enable you comprehend this so which you people will comprehend? this is the single maximum mandatory motives that something of the international hates the U. S.! You HATE to play by potential of the regulations, even your very own regulations. while they develop into incovenient to you, in spite of in case you signed your contract in blood, you ALL start up whining and wriggling and hiring attorneys to get out of it! this is the reason your u . s . is easily controlled by potential of attorneys! this is the reason BILLIONS are flushed down the rest room evey year in litigation in the U. S.! If the regulations weren't observed in this occasion, then you particularly've a case, in the event that they have been observed, even technically, then close UP! go locate something legitamite to get worked up approximately!)

Why do you care? There are procedures for dealing with people who are illegally in the United States and people whose job it is to follow them. I don't know what the 25K dollar savings bond from Toys R Us has to do with anything since it belongs to the child, who is a citizen of the US, and not the parents.

Remember that we have different rules for many oppresive countries, like China and Cuba, for people to "defect" to get legal status.
