Lot knew the two angels in Sodom were angels somehow and Abraham knew that when the three men visited him at the oaks of Mambre that they were the LORD.
Did they look different or was it revealed from the Spirit like when Peter said Jesus was the Son of God.

Well I have met an angel who was handeling God's affairs at a bar. THere was nothing that I could pinpoint as different and the rest of the customers did not react to him any differently. I knew insided that this was an angel.
My guess is that if you are of faith enough to have eyes to see then you see. If not then all appears as the world.

First you have to become spiritually pure (or at least to have real desire to know God) and than you will realise if it is an angel or God in manifest
