Some labels on ground coffee say to refridgerate after opening - others say not to. What's the deal?

I find mine stays the best when I keep it sealed in an airtight container and at room temperature. I love the taste of coffee so it is very important to me that it stays fresh!

If the coffee is fresh and ground, it should be used within a week. Its best to buy whole bean coffee and grind it as you need it. It will stay fresher longer and taste better. You should never put coffee in a refrigerator, as the beans will absorb smells and odors from the foods inside. Always keep it in an airtight container. If the coffee is unopened and in whole bean state, you can freeze it, if you are not going to use it for at least 6 months.

I find that I get an acceptible soltuion by putting it in the freezer.

The "best" answer as mentioned above is an air tight container at room temp .. but every time you open it, you expose it to air. So if you do that daily , best to use up the coffee within one week and get more.

But I make less than a weekly trip to the store.

to each their own.

if you want to have the freshest coffee, you shouldn't refridgerate or freeze. the condensation gathers inside the package and causes the beans/grinds to become weaker. the best option for beans or grinds is to store them at room temp in an air tight container--stay fresh long time!

i've got heard people say it continues to be brisker that way, yet I purely shop mine sealed in an hermetic field on the counter next to the coffeemaker. the fewer I might desire to do until now having my espresso interior the morning the extra effective, and that removes having to head the room and get the field out of the refrigerator and take it lower back. It continues to be clean and scents super.
