Sketch says "An intelligent and well balanced mind can use both the left and right sides of the brain equally." I can honestly say I do this. I am originally a right brained person, but I have trained myself to be left brained also. I had to work a lot harder since analytical stuff was more difficult for me. Got my B.A. in Anthropology (right brained) and my M.S. Neurobiology (left brained). Now I'm going to go fr both in my Ph.D. with Anthropological genetics. :)
As far as religion goes.... I don't think it gravitates toward one side or the other. For my religion, islam, it is logical but it also has the emotional element.

An intelligent and well balanced mind can use both the left and right sides of the brain equally. Religious people tend to be far more left-brained. This also correlates with susceptibility to hypnotism. There are some good books on this topic. If you are near a Barnes and Noble or another good book store check it out.
This is probably going to become unpopular research. To quote Jesse Ventura, "Religion is for the weak-minded." This may scientifically turn out to be true.

I am a right side person. I am also left handed which is also, for most left handers, a right side of brain thing. Religion or more specifically, religious/spiritual experiences are a right brain pheromone. As a person in their "right mind' I am also very intuitive.
