At these words arose from Bathsheba´s lips a long, low cry of measureless despair and indignation, such a wail of anguish as had never been heard within those old-inhabited walls. It was the Tete^eotou of her union with Troy.
"If she´s - that, - what - am I?" she added, as a continuation of the same cry, and sobbing pitifully: and the rarity with her of such abandonment only made the condition more dire.
"You are nothing to me - nothing," said Troy heartlessly. "A ceremony before a priest doesn´t make a marriage. I am not morally yours."

They are very strong and make the point oh so well. There is no room for doubt in the idea of what was meant and how one was to be left feeling.

sounds like the guy had his cake and ate it too, and only now is feeling the affects of the road most traveled that a majority of people go down and not the road less traveled, which as most of our grand parents told each and everyone of us, "if it seems to good to be true, it usually is", wouldnt it be grand to be able to see into the future and avoid such heart ache, but i would bet you a coke that troy's friends tried like helll, and told him your ******** up buddy better stick with that woman or your going to pay, and he has, strong word, yes, irony found when it is much to late, but troy you made your bed so now sleep in it, you greedy wanna be, thanks for nothing you spineless man.....

YEs they are and I still can't believe the idiot got married anyway. Guess if he wasn't going to be happy he would condemn someone with him so he wopuld know and tell them they wouldn't be happy nither. But if I was the girl after hearing those words I would have walked out and never return but your know women when they are in love.
