My granddaughter 3 years old got lice in long curly hair. We tried every treatment that is available in the drug stores. Nothing worked after trying each 2 or 3 times. Finally we tried alcohol (regular rubbing alcohol). Get several large cotton balls, small dish of alcohol, a tight fitting shower cap or plastic bag that fits over the head and go out side or to a well ventilated area. You need assistance from someone. Part the hair in sections and dab the scalp with cotton ball saturated with alcohol. Be careful to not let it get into your eyes and breathing the fumes can be uncomfortable. After entire scalp is wet, cover with tight fitting plastic cover. Use clips to tighten it and leave on 15 minutes. Then remove the cap and use a very fine toothed comb. You will see the lice and the nits (eggs) come off. Try second time if necessary. Good luck. This was by far the cheapest method too.

put loads of conditioner on your hair, take a comb and comb through.
the head lice cannot cling to the hair because of the conditioner.

If you mean head lice, I am told that any ordinary hair conditioner does the trick.
What miserable tw*ts gave me the thumbs down? If you want to spend big money on overrated "designer" products, go ahead.
