I decided to built a cabinet and place my microwave inside it. I threw out my manual and was wondering if you can have a microwave in an enclosed fitted space.

I would normally say yes. However there are built in microwaves which obviously would be closed in, but they are obviously designed for that.

There should be some venting space, even 1/2 inch on two sides at least.
The feet of the microwave supply some space on the bottom, but you really should have a little on top at least, too.

Yes, it needs room to vent out the air, depending on where the vents are on your microwave, usually the bottom and on one side. I would leave a little extra room for that.

yes they do need space to vent but not a large amount. depending on your model, you probably have venting on the bottom, back, and or side. Give each about 1 inch to let the air circulate and you should be ok.

You can, but as with all appliances that give off heat, ventilation is a good idea.
