I lost 105 pounds in 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Or water.
It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.

Yes, I've used the cabbage soup diet to lose 5-10 pounds in 2 weeks ~ for a wedding, reunion, etc. It works and the soup is very tasty & filling. You could google it for the recipe and directions of what you can eat each day during the 2 weeks. It is a Mayo Clinic diet for heart patients that need to lose pounds quickly for surgery. Also, a cleansing diet has worked very well for me too. The one I used was in Woman's Day but there are many ~ and it rids your body of toxins, etc. so you feel TERRIFIC. I recomment either. One at a time, however.
Good luck ~ but that is what has worked for me. And I'm not an exercise person AT ALL. Go for it.

Any crash diet will fail eventually - a "diet" is the wrong way to look at it, you need a lifestyle change. Walk around whenever you can. Do active things with friends and family. Stop drinking soda and anything else where corn syrup is in the top 4 ingredients. Having a partner does help motivation a lot. Good luck!!

ride a bike with a friend, walk, you will still need to excercise... try to make it enjoyable! 5 pounds will just be the water weight you lose.

odds are you re eating too fast try holding a conversation while having a meal so you re not gulping down more than you need to feel full
