When you Curl your hair, spray some hairspray to make it last longer. That's what I did.

For longer lasting curls spray the section of hair you are about to curl with hairspray. After curling the section spray again. Use a stronger hairspray that is designed to be long lasting and firm holding. ( I use ghds to curl my hair. I have used heated rollers in the past, the results didn't look as natural style as I like but the curls lasted longer) For straight hair, use a straightening balm or mouse on damp hair, before blow drying straight with a wide brush. If your hair is still not as straight as you would like, straighten your hair in sections so nothing is missed. Finish with some hairspray. I also always use heatprotector spray before using anything hot on my hair to stop any damage. Hope that helps!

I use Alberto VO5 Give Me Curls! Springing Curl Styling Spray
Alberto VO5 Give Me Curls! Springing Curl Styling Spray

I can sleep on them and wake up the next day and it's still curly. Not as curly as the day before but I can usually wear the same curls the next day as well.

I have thick, straight hair as well and without this it doesn't hold curl well either.

I spray it directly to my hair that is being curled and then curl the section and repeat through the whole head of hair.

The trick is to spray the sectioned piece right before curling and not to spray your whole head then curl.

Good luck

Try using gel in your hair and then try using less hair in the curling iron to give you more curls and lighter curls then use hairspray to hold them spray them after you have curled them and then again when you are completely done.

Try Paul Mitchel Spray and Shine.
Spray each secton of hair before you curl it with the hot iron.
When all done, just finger comb it and then spray with the Paul Mitchel product again. I get great results that way.
