Most people say that that 7 human years is the same as one dog year. This is true for the first three years. A three year old dog is about the same age as a 21 year old person. However, after that the dog ages slower, about 5 years dog to one human. A 5 year dog would be about the same as 31 year old human, and most experts would tell you depending on the dog breed it stay between 3-5 years human to dog years after the first 6-7 years.
