This association exists mostly in Western cultures, and not even in all Western cultures. For that matter, even the idea of an "angelic" face is Western. Many cultures have no concept of angels. In many cultures, voluptuous figures are considered desirable. Big eyes, soft voice and long hair take precedence over height, skin colour and weight.

many countries especially this country has created this stereotype that fat=ugly and supermodel thin=pretty well in actuality to some people fat is also considered being voluptuous and curvy which makes no sense because curvy is sexy, and so is being voluptuous,and what male does"NT like females with curves u know shaped like a coca cola bottle. celebrity like beyonce,Tyra banks ,selma Hewett,Jennifer Lopez,Penelope cruise etc.are known as the most beautiful,inspiring women{which they are}, so why cant others be considered the same way.these celebrity's i just mentioned are on the most part considered curvy and shapely and i know 4 one males around the world adore them so my question is what is ugly about someone with shape opposed to someone that is unhealthily twig thin wearing a size 0,also the most retarted part is people encourage it and actually think its sexy but it's not it's more like the term disgusting exspecially if its right up that anerexic,bullimic alley. no one should look like the living dead and be that skinny unless you just raised from the DEAD.for those who think otherwise my advice is to watch UGLY BETTY this new show on TNT {I think} it incorporates the fact that you dont have to be thin or perfect to be beautiful sometime your personality and character shows that your Beautiful
Bottom line is no one should be judging someones beauty{unless u r god} or judged{unless u r the devil}

In our culture fat is ugly and fat people are discriminate against they are considered disgusting by many in our society. In order to get the same job as a slender person they definitely have to have more education and be smarter.
I have been working in an industry where men choose women for sexual companionship Many men who find fat women erotic are very afraid that their choice of fat women will be ridiculed by their friends.
So fat women you ARE wanted by many.
Just 100 years ago fat people were considered attractive. Especially women slender women were women that would die faster during hard times and in most cases could not work as long as larger women. Fat women were considered an incredible catch and slender women were considered a liability by most men.

Because Americans (and most Westerners) are programmed to believe that fat = ugly and thin = pretty. It's merely cultural. In other countries, such as Africa, thin = sickly and fat = prosperous. Pretty interesting, eh?

well, thin isn't always pretty. People think I'm ugly because I'm too skinny. It's just a stereotype

How fat are we speaking right here? I honestly have limits. and how gruesome is the skinny chick? And niether might want to be my "lady friend". a lady might want to could be ideal in my eyes to get to lady friend status.
