The maximum age of non-prior service enlistment, under federal law used to be age 35. In 2006 the Army convinced Congress to change this to age 44.
Regardless of federal law, the military services are allowed to impose more strict standards -- and they have. The maximum age for non-prior service enlistments for each of the services are:

Active duty Army - 42
Army Reserves - 42
Army Natinal Guard - 42
Active duty Air Force - 27
Air Force Reserve - 34
Air National guard - 34
Active duty Navy - 34
Navy Reserves - 39
Active duty Marines - 28
Marine Corps Reserves - 29
Active duty Coast Guard - 27
Coast Guard Reserves - 27

Age waivers are possible for those with prior military service.

don't listen to these ***-munchers
go talk to a real recruiter
depends on how many years you have as prior service,
the RE code on your 214,
present medical conditions,(you will more than likely have to take an over 40 physical )
as far as your degree and being an officer----depends on the degree and the needs of the army
I personally wish you the best of luck and hope you get in

With the US Army, it was raised to 42 years of age, the rest of the Armed Forces, I think, is 34 years of age.

there's no such thing as an age waiver. For the Army, we just subtract the number of years of prior service from your age and that is how old we consider you for enlistment...

I don't think you can be an officer anymore. I think the maximum (adjusted) age to reenlist is currently 45 in the army. Your adjusted age is your actual age minus your years of active federal service.

I think you are too old to enlist, but if you want to help out our effort in Iraq you could hire on as a body guard for the private contractors, I dont think they have an age limit.
You would get paid more, too.
