I don't think it would hurt anything, other than add some color to it, which may or may not be a good thing, if it's a 'light' colored dish it may become pink or something! LOL! But I think the tastes would be similar. I'd drink to that! ;)

Yes you can cook chicken with red wine. However, to better answer your question, it would be more helpful to know what exactly it was you were making.

Like if I were making my chicken with white wine and caper sauce, which is very citrusy and light, red wine would totally not work. It would be a very strange color and red wine and lemon, just don't go. However, making chicken caccitore, I could go either way as it is a hearty red tomato based recipe.

You can also substitute apple juice or chicken brother for white wine. Sometimes a recipe might taste weird with red wine.

Lady you have to start buying wines with a twist cap. There are alot of bottle with twist cap now especially australian wines. Get an electrical Corkscrew . They are very easy to use unless you are all thumbs. Oh by the way you can use Red Wine as a substitute for white wine in your chicken recipe. By the way my name is Emeril. Baaaam

Ever hear of coq au vin? The most famous of chicken with wine dishes ever! It is made with Pinot Noir or other Burgundy red wine.

You might have to alter your recipe a little, but there is no reason you can't use your red.

According to my wife, YES!!!!! As a matter of fact, red wine makes it taste better and is really good for you,
that is, if you drink red wine moderately!!! Don't drink the whole bottle.

red wine doesn't boil on in the same way white wine does. It also doesn't add the same flavor to the food. but my guess is it will taste different, but still be good.

Not sure how that would turn out. But I CAN tell you that apple juice is a good sub for white wine.

Make a zesty chicken parmesan. That would go really well with your red.
